Explore the Archeological processes at the Cistern in Vulci

This touchscreen installation allows the exhibition audience to explore the Cistern at Vulci. This subset of the archeological site provided a rich strata of material compressed over time as the Cistern transitioned from storing water to being a receptacle for waste from the city. Within this sedimentary material Pollen, animal bones and pottery shards were discovered. The analysis of these findings provide insight into the landscape and cultural practices in Vulci.
